Mission

MOAA Northwest Arkansas Chapter is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization of current and former military officers, family members, and surviving spouses that advocates for the military community. The chapter supports future leaders through scholarships, ROTC mentorship, flag education in local elementary schools, sponsoring Boys & Girls State participants, maintaining University of Arkansas and JROTC partnerships, and fundraising for the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

RADM “Seabee” Jack E. Buffington, CEC, USN (Ret), passed away July 25, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. The Admiral had been a loyal and faithful supporter of our MOAA Chapter and he will be sorely missed.
